This Pulitzer Prize-winning play will be Roadside's entry in the USAREUR One-Act Play Festival to be held October 6 - 8th here at Roadside Theater.
"W;t" is a dazzling character study, full of wry humor and compassion. It is the heartwarming and heartbreaking story about a brilliant yet unsentimental English literature professor battling ovarian cancer. Her only defense against the experimental treatment she undergoes is her intelligence and her deep passion for John Donne's poetry.
Through her flashbacks and speaking directly with the audience, we travel with her on her journey, and meet important characters in her life, including former mentors and students, uncaring physicians, self-absorbed interns, and soft-hearted nurses.
A special thanks to the commander, COL Patricia Saulsberry, and the staff of the US Army Hospital, Heidelberg for the loan of equipment, and to the individual professionals who helped train the cast and crew in medical techniques and terminology.
