"Lend Me A Tenor" |
Set in mid-1930's Cleveland, "Lend Me A Tenor" is an over-the-top, door-slamming, dress-dropping comedy with mistaken identities, eavesdropping, outrageous misunderstandings and show-stopping one-liners.
It is the biggest night in the history of the Cleveland Grand Opera Company, and a world-famous tenor will be their guest artist for a gala benefit. But he's incapacitated just minutes before the overture. The opera manager's efforts to cover up the celebrity's disappearance go from bad to worse as we meet the ambitious bellhop, a girlfriend in the bathtub, another in the closet, and the sudden appearance of the tenor's extremely jealous wife just as an assistant dons a costume to try and convince the audience that the famous tenor is actually performing.
Directed by Michele Lee Cobb
