Life Upon the Wicked Stage

The Roadside Theater again hosts the Festival of One Act Plays. This jam-packed weekend includes over a dozen One Act plays from around the world, guest performances, special events, classes & workshops and an exciting awards ceremony - all FREE to the public.

Wanda's Visit

A One Act Comedy by Christopher Durang

Audition Dates: Sept. 6 & 7 at 7 pm at the Roadside Theater, Patton Barracks

Show Dates: Oct 14, 15, 21 & 22 at 7:30 pm

Jim and Marsha, married for thirteen years, are feeling a little bored, a little unhappy and a little restless. Suddenly, out of nowhere, Wanda (Jim's nutty, old girlfriend) shows up for a visit and becomes the true "Guest from Hell." Jim and Marsha's marriage and their world teeter on the brink in this hysterical, comic tour-de-force.
Wanda's Visit is the Roadside Theater entry in the 2011 IMCOM-E Festival of One Act Plays.

Recommended for mature audiences.

The Secret Garden

This enchanting family musical, based on the beloved children's tale by Frances Hodgson Burnett, tells the story of 10-year-old Mary Lennox who is orphaned by a cholera epidemic in India. She is sent to live with her uncle in a lonely, dark manor house in Yorkshire, England. The haunted estate's many wonders include a secret garden beckoning Mary with haunting melodies and drifting spirits. This Tony Award-winning musical is a compelling tale of forgiveness and renewal.

Come celebrate over 50 years of Roadside Theater musicals in this tune-filled trip down memory lane. As the Roadside Theater closes, SOUND SENSATION will feature the music and dance of the theater's greatest musical events.

The 39 Steps

Mix a Hitchcock masterpiece with a juicy spy novel, add a dash of Monty Python and you have The 39 Steps, a fast-paced whodunit for anyone who loves the magic of theatre! This Tony Award-winning treat is packed with nonstop laughs, over 150 zany characters (played by a ridiculously talented cast of 4), an on-stage plane crash, handcuffs, missing fingers and some good old-fashioned romance! A riotous blend of virtuoso performances and wildly inventive stagecraft, The 39 Steps amounts to an unforgettable evening of pure pleasure!

The IMCOM-E Tournament of Plays Awards Evening

For the last time, the Roadside Theater has the honor of hosting this glittering evening of song and dance with awards galore. Come join us as we celebrate outstanding US Army Theater productions from across Europe in our own "Tony Awards" style. Truly one of the exciting events of the theatrical year!

Heidelberg and Mannheim Community Members may make reservations April 3rd. All other military communities must contact their local Entertainment Director no later than 10 April.

Oklahoma!

This joyful show was ground-breaking in musical theater history and remains one of the most beloved musicals of all time.

Set in Western Indian Territory just after the turn of the century, the high-spirited rivalry between the local farmers and cowboys provides the colorful background against which Curly, a handsome cowboy, and Laurey, a winsome farm girl, play out their love story. With these two headstrong romantics holding the reins, love's journey is as bumpy as a surrey ride down a country road - roaring toward statehood and the founding of Oklahoma!
