"Peter and the Wolf" Premieres April 14
Heidelberg's Roadside Theater will open an original multi-media adaptation of the classic folk tale, "Peter and the Wolf," on April 14. Adapted from Sergei Prokofiev's well-known score, this unique production will use both human actors and character puppets to tell this classic story that promises to be exciting for children and adults alike.
A cadre of nearly 40 volunteers has been working over four months designing and building puppets from scratch, creating scenery and props, and producing the multimedia backgrounds for this show. The characters include muppet-style puppets, marionettes, mechanical puppets, and a life-size character that takes three puppeteers to operate.
Evening and matinee performances run April 27, 29, and 30. Tickets are on sale now, and Roadside also offers a special Family Pass for families of four to six. For more information or to make online reservations, visit www.roadsidetheater.com. There are also photo galleries of the production posted on the website.
