Mortals,
Gods, Fairies and the Summer of Love
A Midsummer Night's Dream has been called
William Shakespeare's happiest and most enchanting work,
and our production, set in the 1960's, is still true to
this timeless tale. Two young lovers, Hermia and
Lysander, take refuge in the forest to escape the wrath
of the Duke of Athens. There, while a group of bumbling
actors rehearse a play for the royal wedding, we watch
the hilarious misadventures of the young lovers and their
friends as their lives and loves are shaken by a
marvelous collection of supernatural creatures of the
night, led by Oberon, King of the Fairies, and Puck, his
mischievous minion. A delightful romp the entire family
will enjoy.
