book by Joseph Stein, lyrics by Sheldon Harnick, music by Jerry Bock
In the little village of Anatevka, Tevye, a poor dairyman, tries to instill
in his five daughters the traditions of his tight-knit jewish community in
the face of changing social mores and the growing anti-Semitism of Czarist
Russia. "One of the great works of American musical theatre. It is
darling, touching, beauriful, warm, fun, and inspiring. It is a work of art."

Wieslaw Walkuski created the original artwork for Roadside's "Fiddler on the Roof" poster. Wieslaw was born in Bialystok, Poland in 1956. Between 1976 and 1981 he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. In 1981 he started to cooperate with a number of publishing houses, theatres and film distributors. His designs are surrealist, startling, and dramatic, full of flowing shapes and constrasting imagery. His original poster designs have won first place awards from The Chicago Film Festival, The International Poster Biennale (Mexico City), the New York Film Festival, The International Biennale of Theatre Poster (Rzeszow, Poland), the International Poster Festival (Chaumont, France), the International Theatre poster Competition (Osnabrueck, Germany), and many more. Since 1987 he has been working as a freelance artist living and working in Warsaw. His prolific body of works includes paintings, posters, and illustrations.
