YOUNG ACTORS CLASS I (Grades 6-9)
An eight week class schedule culminating in a presentation of a
short play developed by the students. The class uses story telling
techniques to develop characters and plot points to present their
own view of the world. $105 for Full Session Wednesdays, 1700-1830
March 23 & 30; April 6, 20 & 27; May 4, 11 & 18 Performance
on Saturday May 21, 1300
ADVANCED YOUNG ACTORS CLASS (Grades 6-9)
An eight week class culminating in a short presentation of a work
of their choosing. This class differs from the previous classes
in that the focus will be on adaptation of a work already in existence.
The participants will choose the work, cast the roles and develop
the characters, with an emphasis on developing acting technique
and basic stagecraft. $105 for Full Session/ Must have taken Young
Actors Class I Tuesdays, 1700-1830 March 22 & 29; April 5, 19
& 26; May 3, 10 & 17 Performance on Saturday May 21, 1300
TEEN ACTING (Grades 10-12)
An eight week class using scenes and monologues focusing on developing
confidence and self-esteem, and giving the participants the basic
"process"skills to continue in the field of Acting. The
class will culminate in a presentation of the scenes and monologues
used in the process. $105 for Full Session Thursdays, 1700-1830
March 24 & 31; April 7, 21 & 28; May 5, 12 & 19 Performance
on Saturday May 21, 1300
BEGINNING ACTING (ACTING 1 & 2)
An eight week combined class for the new or novice actor, focusing
on basic stagecraft and acting technique through scene work. $15
per class or $105 for Full Session (which would include 1 free class)
Saturdays 1430-1730 March 19 & 26; April 2 & 30; May 7,
21 & 28; June 4
SCRIPT ANALYSIS
A three week course in “How to read a script”. Recommended
for Actors and Directors, Novice and Advanced. The class will dissect
a script to discover the playwrights “intent” based
on plot, theme, language and conceptualization. $45 for the Full
Session (No “Class by Class” available) Saturdays 1100-1400
April 2 & 30; May 7
MUSICAL COMEDY WORKSHOP (Open To
All, *16 & Up)
$45 for three session workshop, or $15 per session. Advance registration
is required, and payment due the Wednesday before the workshop begins.
Thursdays, March 3, 10, and 17, from 7 - 10pm
A three week intensive workshop in Musical Theater from audition
to performance. The Workshop will work to develop the basic audition
and performance skills in voice, movement and acting. The various
styles of Musical Theater will be discussed and utilized.
Week 1 (Mar 3): Auditioning for musical theater with Richard Roberts and Debbie Bauer. A discussion of auditoin followed by practical work and critique. Please bring a song to sing as an audition and be dressed to move.
Week 2 (Mar 10): Acting in musicals with Richard Roberts. A discussion of musical theater styles followed by practical coaching of readings from various styles.
Week 3 (Mar 17): Performing in a musical with Richard Roberts and
Debbie Bauer. A discussion of rehearsals and performance techniques
and process followed by proactical scene, song and movement work.
* Exceptions to the requirements can be made based on Experience.
